Z3 Coupe Drifter

BMW Z3 Coupe Drifter

This Z3 Coupe was posted on flickr.com by vector507. There were no details posted about the Coupe. I thought it was interesting and wanted to post it though. I can’t identify all of the mods, but aside from the giant rear wing, it looks like they have mounted Sonar ProjectorZ II  headlights, roll cage, pins on the hood and hatch, up front they are running Style 42 wheels, and in the rear Style 68. I’m not sure if the different front and rear wheels are intended as a statement of some sort, or if they were a practical choice, for some reason. The yellow vinyl on the center of the hood, roof, hatch and wing is different than any other I have seen. But, that goes for the whole Coupe, I suppose.

Z3 Coupe Race Car

Z3 Coupe Race Car | Bas Koeten

This Coupe was posted in flickr.com by Pedro Valiente. The Coupe is listed as a Z3 M Coupe by the photographer, but based upon the Z3 side grilles and side mirrors, I believe it is a Z3 Coupe. The chrome trim ringed headlights, and chrome trimmed kidney grilles indicate that this is a 2000+ model. It is likley, however, that numerous components of the Coupe have been replaced, so they may not be a good indication.

S50B32 M Coupe | Matte Black | Imola/Black

S50B32 M Coupe | Matte Black Vinyl Wrap | Imola/Black

This M Coupe was posted on autogespot.com by matthijsnoort after spotting it in Berkel en Rodenrijs, Netherlands. The Coupe has been wrapped in matte black vinyl, and the Roadstars powder coated (or possibly painted) red. The kidney grille surrounds, and side grille slats have also been wrapped (or painted) matte black. The Coupe has a nice drop, I’d assume on KW Coilovers since it is outside the US. I’m not sure why, but KW Coilovers seem to be the suspension of choice, although others are certainly available. If the wheels were clean, it’d certainly look better, but I actually kind of like the look of this Coupe. It’s well outside the mainstream, but everything is pretty easily reversible if the owner gets tired of it.

2000 Z3 Coupe | Oxford Green | Black

I stumbled across a link on bmw-klub.pl posted by wojtan74 to otomoto.pl, a Polish automotive classified listing site. This Z3 Coupe is listed for sale there for zÅ‚ 38,000 (~$13,054 USD) with 65,000 km (40,389 miles). This particular listing caught my eye thanks to the Roadstars.  Z3s typically run a square 17×7.5 ET41 setup, whereas Roadstars are 17×7.5 ET41 17×9 ET8. With the wider rear wheel, and extremely low offset, the rears poke beyond the fender about an inch. With stock ride height, like this Coupe has, they aren’t likely to interfere too much, but are at risk of hitting the quarter panel over significant dips and bumps. Aside from the Roadstars, and vinyl graphics, the Coupe appears to be all stock.

1999 Z3 Coupe Race Car

This Z3 Coupe was posted on allsportauto.com, along side this M Coupe race car that I posted a while back. Once again there are no details about the Coupe. This Z3 Coupe has the most aero modifications of any Coupe that I have seen. Front splitter, canards, wide body fenders front and rear, side skirts, deleted side mirrors, some kind of crazy rear view mirrors on the hood, a GIANT rear diffuser, and hatch spoiler. I’m most interested in what is under the hood though. Based upon all of the visible aero, and ducting work done, I’m sure this Coupe flies. (more…)
