2000 M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Black

This M Coupe was posted for sale on pistonheads.com Shrewsbury, UK with 35,001 miles for £19,995 (~$31,636 USD). Dakar Yellow is a rare color in NA with only 51 produced, 41 with Black interior, with only 33 in 2000 of which 24 had a sunroof. There were 821 RHD M Coupes produced, so if the color distribution is similar, there would be about 19 in RHD Dakar Yellow Coupes. While the price would be high in the US, I suspect it’s not too far off for the UK. It appears to be all stock.

1998 M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Gray/Black

1998 M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Gray/Black

This M Coupe was submitted by Hans Winkler of Regensburg, Germany. I’ve posted photos of Hans’ Coupe before, it’s a great looking Coupe! Mods include: KW V3 suspension, 18″ Style 67 E46 M3 wheels, 15mm (F), 20mm (R) spacers, PFC-06 Brake Pads, Goodridge SS brake lines, and Powerflex bushings, and looking at the interior photo it appears that he has an Alcantara wrapped shift knob, a rewrapped steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and an aftermarket head unit.

S50 to S62 Conversion | 1999 M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Gray/Black

S50 to S62 Conversion | 1999 M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Gray/Black | Carbon Goeke Spoiler Wing

This M Coupe was posted on z3mcoupe.com by M-Center of Moscow, Russia. The Coupe started it’s life as an S50B32 engined Coupe, and now has an 8 cylinder S62B50 from an E39 M5, producing nearly 500 hp. That kind of power necessitates reinforcement of the stock trunk floor. M-Center strengthened the floor and utilized a dual ear E36 M3 diff cover by adding a second hanger. The S62 engine is significantly taller than the stock S50 engine, thus requiring modifications to allow the hood to close. A Vac Motorsports dry sump oil system, which not only ensures that the engine won’t be starved of oil on the track, allows removal of the S62 oil pan allowing crucial clearance to be added to the engine bay. Plumbed from the engine bay is a hatch mounted 3 gallon dry sump tank containing the oil.  Aside from the engine and chassis mods there are plenty more: Custom exhaust, 6 speed E39 M5 transmission, ceramic clutch, Fidanza LTW flywheel, custom length driveshaft, Porsche 911 GT3 RS 997 brakes, KW V3 coilovers, H&R struts, BBS LM wheels, Nitto AE01 tires, custom roll cage, Sparco EVO Plus seats, Schroth seat belts, a what looks to me like a Carbon Goeke spoiler. All in all, this a very cool one-of-a-kind M Coupe.

1998 M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Gray/Black

1998 BMW M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Gray/Black

This M Coupe was posted in z3mcoupe.com by Hans Winkler of Germany. I’ve posted some shot of his Coupe before, but at that time it had 18″ Style 67 E46 M3 wheels and stock suspension. Since then he has added Chrome Shadow Roadstars, and lowered the Coupe. I’m guessing KW suspension, as that seems the frequent choice in Europe, whereas TC Kline is a frequent choice in the US. The ride height looks perfect, and the wheels look perfectly flush in the rear. When I was running Roadstars, I had 18mm spacers in the rear. I’m guessing he is running something similar. The M flag vinyl graphic is an interesting touch. I haven’t seen anybody highlight the lower portion of the “C” pillar before.

2000 M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Black

This M Coupe was posted for sale on pistonheads.com by Munich Legends with 53,106 miles for £14,500 (~$22,320 USD). The Coupe appears to be all stock, aside from the Roadstars which have been refinished in a darker color that mimics the Chrome Shadow finish that S54 M Coupes featured.
