BMW USA giving more love to the M Coupe.
Beautiful Evergreen sunroof delete M Coupe from Cape Town, South Africa. Evergreen was only offered in 1999 and 2000. The chrome trim ringed headlights, and chrome trimmed kidney grille slats were installed beginning in 2000.
This far from normal M Coupe was listed for sale Bedfordshire, UK by Ashridge Automobiles Ltd for £11,900 (~$18,140 USD). Of the 51 Dakar Yellow M Coupes sold in NA, all but 2 (which have Kyalami Orange leather) are monochrome – Black (41) or Gray/Black (8). Dakar Yellow over Estoril Blue leather is one of the more adventurous color combos I’ve seen on an M Coupe. The Coupe appears to be all stock, aside from the hideous “eye lashes” on the headlights. Why on earth a dealer would list a car for sale with those, let alone a BMW, is beyond me.
This Coupe is owned by Christian Broen of Norway. He submitted these photos after I shared a photo of his Coupe on the Coupe Cartel Facebook page asking if anybody recognized it. Christian purchased this Coupe from Japan and had it imported to Norway earlier this year. Coupes are quite rare in Norway, as you might imagine. There are thought to be less than half a dozen in the country. It was purchased with 50k km (~31,069 miles), which is definitely on the lower end of the mileage spectrum you’ll find. There’s a plaque on the dash stating that his Coupe was one of the first 100 M Coupes sold online. Kind of a cool fact to know. Christian swapped out the wheels that were included with the Coupe for white Roadstars. It’s a striking look! Although, I don’t imagine easy to keep them looking clean. You can read more about his Coupe on bimmers.no.
An Estoril Blue M Coupe, a 98 or 99 based upon the non-chrome trimmed kidney grille slats, joins in the fun of E30 Meet in Norway.
