5 of us met up at Gary’s shop in North Hollywood, Minicorsa, for a while before heading further north to the hotel in Camarillo. Thanks for letting us stop by, Gary! We’re at the hotel now, where there are 19 Coupes spread across the lot. I’d post a photo, but you wouldn’t be able to see much. Looking forward to Dorkfest tomorrow! This Z3 Coupe was posted on bmwz3club.fr by E Type of Vaires sur Marne, France. He is the third owner of the 67,000 km Coupe. This Coupe has two fairly uncommon interior options, Chrome Line trim, and Dream Red leather. They look great in combination together, especially with the 2001-2002 M54 center console. The sunroof delete and complimentary Titanium Silver paint job are the icing on the cake. A very nice looking combo! It appears to be all stock.
My brother brought this M Coupe (CA plate 6SBV478) to my attention from a set of photos covering MFest 2012 in Las Vegas, NV. There’s not much to say about this Coupe, but I like the rolling shot. Based upon the curved M badge on the hatch, this is an 2001 or 2002 with an S54 under the hood. That also makes the color Titanium Silver, rather than Arctic, as Arctic was no longer an option after 1999. The only visible mods in the photo are tinted windows, and a shorty antenna.
I was headed home from work yesterday, as I approached the left turn lane headed towards the freeway, of all things, a Coupe pulled into the lane next to me. I nearly broke my neck trying to catch a glimpse of the Coupe. I was pretty surprised to see a Coupe on the road locally, as it’s been over a year since I had seen another. Luckily the Coupe pulled into the right most turn lane to the onramp and continued onto Loop 101 westbound. We were both snapping photos of the other Coupe. Traffic slowed a bit and we both rolled our windows down. The lady driving the Coupe shouted over the freeway noise “I love the color! Did you get yours in Germany?!” I told her I bought it in PA and asked when they bought theirs. She said “2003″. Traffic started to pick up, so I moved along admiring the Coupe as I pulled ahead with traffic. I could see chrome trim ringed headlights, and chrome trimmed kidney grille slats, so I knew it was a 2000+ making the color Titanium Silver rather than Arctic Silver. At one point when the Coupe was ahead of me I could see the 3.0 badge on the hatch. It also had a sunroof, but I’m curious if it was manual or auto. The only mod I could see on the Coupe was that the windows were tinted. It must have been somewhat of a sight for the surrounding traffic to see 2 E36/8s side by side.
If you guys spot a Coupe, and can snap some pics, please send them in!
