I was headed home from work yesterday, as I approached the left turn lane headed towards the freeway, of all things, a Coupe pulled into the lane next to me. I nearly broke my neck trying to catch a glimpse of the Coupe. I was pretty surprised to see a Coupe on the road locally, as it’s been over a year since I had seen another. Luckily the Coupe pulled into the right most turn lane to the onramp and continued onto Loop 101 westbound. We were both snapping photos of the other Coupe. Traffic slowed a bit and we both rolled our windows down. The lady driving the Coupe shouted over the freeway noise “I love the color! Did you get yours in Germany?!” I told her I bought it in PA and asked when they bought theirs. She said “2003″. Traffic started to pick up, so I moved along admiring the Coupe as I pulled ahead with traffic. I could see chrome trim ringed headlights, and chrome trimmed kidney grille slats, so I knew it was a 2000+ making the color Titanium Silver rather than Arctic Silver. At one point when the Coupe was ahead of me I could see the 3.0 badge on the hatch. It also had a sunroof, but I’m curious if it was manual or auto. The only mod I could see on the Coupe was that the windows were tinted. It must have been somewhat of a sight for the surrounding traffic to see 2 E36/8s side by side.
