S54B32 M Coupe | Phoenix Yellow | Black

S54B32 S54 BMW Z3 M Coupe | Phoenix Yellow | Black

This M Coupe was posted on bimmerportal.nl by Niels. Phoenix Yellow has to be one of, if not the most polarizing colors for the M Coupe. I was not a fan of it a few years back, but have grown to appreciate it. This M Coupe looks particularly good with the BBS CH wheel, aftermarket suspension, and the Hamann rear diffuser center section. The Hamann rear diffuser is 3 pieces, left wing, center, and right wing. I like the way it looks without the side wings. Additional mods include: Alcantara shift boot, aluminum pedals, LeatherZ MKII armrest, Alpine head unit, and AC Schnitzer exhaust. When Niels purchased the Coupe, the tail lights had been smoked, likely with a tint of some sort. He removed the tint restoring the tail lights to the original condition. An improvement, I think.

S50B32 M Coupe | Cosmos Black | Black

S50B32 BMW M Coupe | Cosmos Black | Black | BBS CH Wheels

This M Coupe was posted by Arcen_gespot in autogespot.com after being spotted in Arcen, Netherlands. The Coupe does have a curved M badge on the hatch from an S54 M Coupe, but based upon the side grilles with flat (faded) M badges, I’d say this is an S50 M Coupe. Aside from the BBS CH wheels, the coupe appears to be all stock. There isn’t enough other detail to identify a year for sure, but it doesn’t seem like the headlights have chrome trim rings. I’d guess it’s a 98 or 99. What do you guys think?

1999 Z3 Coupe | Hellrot Red | Black | Part II

1999 BMW Z3 Coupe | Hellrot Red | Black

Yesterday I posted photos of Alex’s Hellrot Z3 Coupe. After posting the photos I found on BFc, I asked if he had a couple more. He was kind enough to send me quite a few more, including some from a recent photo shoot he did. I thought rather than editing the initial post, or waiting, that I would share them today. The more I look at his Coupe, the more I like it. Everything fits together so well — The stance, wheels, paint color, blacked out roof — it looks great! I’m really digging the location for the photo shoot in contrast with the Coupe. Well done Alex, well done.

1999 Z3 Coupe | Hellrot Red | Black

1999 BMW Z3 Coupe | Hellrot Red | Black

This Z3 Coupe was posted by 93is (Alex) on bimmerforums.com. He purchased the Coupe in April with just over 100k miles for only $8,800. A bargain, if you ask me! (I sold my ’99 Montreal Blue/Beige Z3 Coupe with 122k in 2008 for $12k.) Mods include: Blacked out roof, red angel eyes, black kidney grille surrounds, magnetic stone guards, fog lights, Magnaflow 14815 exhaust, UUC pulleys, M5 clutch, M3 pressure plate, lightweight flywheel, Korman 3.46 diff with 50% LSD, Mr. M Car subframe reinforcement, Rogue Engineerng rear shock mounts, Bilstein sport suspension, and 17″ x 8.5 ET0, 17″ x 10″ ET13 Keskin KT1s.

2000 M Coupe or Z3 Coupe?

BMW M Coupe or BMW Z3 Coupe?

This Coupe was posted on flickr.com by Toprope. Based upon the chrome trimmed kidney grille slats, chrome trim ringed headlights and flat M badges, this is a 2000 with an S50 under the hood. I can’t identify with much certainty whether it is an M Coupe or a Z3 Coupe, though. Let’s look at what is from an M: Estoril paint, M badges, oval side mirrors, side grilles, AC Schnitzer dual exhaust, rear axles adequate for E46 M3 18″ Style 67 wheels (18″ x 8″ ET 47, 18″ x 9″ ET 26). Now, what’s from a Z3 Coupe: front and rear bumper, hatch, Z3 rectangular rear view mirror. The seats are appear to be blue, but I can’t see clearly enough if they are two tone, like an M, or all blue, like a Z3. Paint work has obviously been done, given the matched hatch spoiler, and unpainted lower portion of the side mirrors. To me, the most plausible answer is that this is an M Coupe, that has had the front and rear bumper, along with the hatch replaced. Modifying a Z3 Coupe with dual exhaust, is quite a bit of work, not to mention swapping the rear axles (and whatever else would be necessary) to fit the low offset rear wheels, and repainting it from a Z3 color to an M color. What do you think – M Coupe or Z3 Coupe?
