1999 Z3 Coupe | Alpine White

Alpine White Z3 Coupe

This excellent Z3 Coupe photo was posted on flickr.com by maldito kid. There aren’t any details posted about, so I can’t identify the interior color, or the year for certain. The headlights are without chrome trim rings, and the kidney grille slats also are without the chrome as well. I’m guessing it is a 1999, meaning there is an M52 beneath the hood. I recognize the wheels, but I can’t pinpoint the brand and model. Anybody know what they are?

2000 M Coupe | Estoril Blue | Dark Oregon Beige | WBSCM9344YLC62226 | Salvage Title

This M Coupe (VIN: WBSCM9344YLC62226) is listed for sale on outbackautosalesinc.com of Chicago, IL with 71k miles for $14,500. This Coupe was in a front end collision in March of this year that caused the insurance company to total it (photos of the damage at the bottom of this post). It was sold at auction in Jackson, MS with an opening bid of $5,300. The damage from the accident wasn’t all that extensive, which given the fairly low mileage, it seems odd that it was totaled. Just the same, now that it has a salvage title, the price does seem a bit high. I’m pretty curious what it sold for at auction. If anybody has a way to check, please post in the comments or email me. I assume the dealer purchased it themselves at auction and had the hood repaired, a new bumper,  along with new headlights, and they purchased the ugly eBay kidney grilles. They should have ponied up the few bucks and purchased the OEM parts, along with new M badges all around, and refinish the wheels. The hood still looks a bit tweaked with the drivers side touching the headlight, while the passengers side has too wide of a gap, yet the gap to the quarter panels looks correct. I think for $12-$13k somebody could buy this, finish the repairs and have a nice looking Coupe.

2000 Z3 Coupe | Hellrot Red

I stumbled across this Z3 Coupe, randomly posted on howstuffworks.com by David Hogan. The Coupe appears to be all stock. David had this to say about his Coupe:

David Hogan: I enjoy my 2000 BMW Z3 coupe for a lot of reasons: its eccentric “bread van” design, the capable 2.8-liter six, the slick 5-speed stick, the confident way it corners. With its broad hips and fiery red finish it seems to me to have a personality, and I baby it, seeing that it never encounters snow or even rain, and bringing the odo, so far, to just 17K.

In the five years I’ve owned the car I’ve seen myself–that is, another Z3 coupe–only once. That brought a fleeting moment of solidarity with the other driver, who seemed to be as pleased and surprised as I was.
