1998 M Coupe | Imola Red | Imola/Black

1998 M Coupe | Imola Red | Imola/Black | Widebody Custom M Coupe

I stumbled across this M Coupe was posted on elgarajetuning.com. This is the most over-the-top Coupe I’ve seen to date — more so than this one. To some extent, I can appreciate the uniqueness and work that has gone into it. For what it is, it seems to be well executed. On the other hand, it looks like an otherwise stock M Coupe was stung by a bee, or something you might find in Disney’s Cars. I dunno. Nobody can argue that it’s not unique. It seems quite unlikely to be duplicated. An amazing amount of work went into widening the Coupe by 10″ on each side with new fenders, side skirts, widened bumpers along with huge front splitters. The front  & rear bumpers, side skirts, and front & rear fenders have all been molded together. The hatch was completely smoothed, and a massive hatch spoiler was molded on. The interior hasn’t been ignored either. Paint matched bits are found throughout, a massive tachometer, gauges on the dash (although the engine bay appears to be all stock), and a consistently over-the-top audio setup has been installed. The entire hatch has been replaced with a custom built box with a boatload of subwoofers and a matching amp. 4 point harnesses have been added, but no roll cage. It also looks like the lenses have been removed from the headlights – an odd move, but not all too surprising, I suppose, considering the rest of the Coupe. An interesting Coupe, indeed.

S50B32 M Coupe | Arctic Silver | Imola/Black

S54B32 M Coupe | Titanium Silver | Imola/Black | Silver with Black Wheels

This M Coupe was posted on autogespot.com by omg! after spotting it in Salzburg, Austria. The Coupe has a number of mods, some of which I can’t clearly identify: aftermarket suspension, black aftermarket wheels, front/rear BBK. If you recognize any of these, please post in the comments. The Coupe also has a color matched hatch spoiler, and color matched door handles. Based upon the curved M badges, chrome trim ringed headlights, and chrome trimmed kidney grille slats, this is an 01 or 02 with and S54 under the hood. Edit: I had this one all wrong! Thanks for posting in the comments, Michi!

1999 M Coupe | Arctic Silver | Imola/Black

1999 M Coupe | Arctic Silver | Imola/Black | Pistonheads.com

This M Coupe is listed for sale on pistonheads.com by Classic Heroes with only 22,000 miles for £16,950 (~$27,300 USD). The Coupe appears to be all stock. I’m surprised that the dealer doesn’t seem to be very informed or observant. They list the car as Titan Silver (which BMW actually calls Titanium Silver), when it is really Arctic Silver. Titanium Silver was not available until 2000, when Arctic Silver was phased out. They also mention that it has a 6 speed, when all Z3/Ms were sold from the factory with a 5 speed (although it is possible that a 6 speed was installed later, but quite unlikely). It’s odd for a dealer to overlook these details, but maybe my expectations are just too high. I dunno. The color combo is a fairly rare one for the US with only 30 sold in 1999, 22 of which have a sunroof, I’d imagine it’s even less common for a RHD M Coupe.
