S50B32 M Coupe | Matte Black | Imola/Black

S50B32 M Coupe | Matte Black Vinyl Wrap | Imola/Black

This M Coupe was posted on autogespot.com by matthijsnoort after spotting it in Berkel en Rodenrijs, Netherlands. The Coupe has been wrapped in matte black vinyl, and the Roadstars powder coated (or possibly painted) red. The kidney grille surrounds, and side grille slats have also been wrapped (or painted) matte black. The Coupe has a nice drop, I’d assume on KW Coilovers since it is outside the US. I’m not sure why, but KW Coilovers seem to be the suspension of choice, although others are certainly available. If the wheels were clean, it’d certainly look better, but I actually kind of like the look of this Coupe. It’s well outside the mainstream, but everything is pretty easily reversible if the owner gets tired of it.

Dorkfest | Sneak Peak

Dorkfest 2011 | Sneak Peak

This is a glimpse of the parking lot at the Danville Sycamore Inn, the night before Dorkfest 2011. 12 E36/8s are spread across the parking lot. There are Coupes here from Nor Cal and So cal, Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, and Alberta, Canada so far. I’ve never seen more than 3 Coupes together in person before, so seeing 12 today has been pretty cool. I’m looking forward to seeing many, many more at the Blackhawk Museum tomorrow. I’ve had a great time meeting a number of people who I have known from BFc today. Now I need to go get some sleep!

2000+ M Coupe | Estoril Blue

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6191/6080541921_174e0f0e56_z.jpg

This single M Coupe photo was posted on deviantart.com by lo-Que. There are no details posted about the Coupe. Based upon the chrome trim ringed headlights, and chrome trimmed kidney grille slats this is a 2000+ M Coupe. It could be either and S50 of S54, but without seeing the engine bay, gauges, or M badges, there isn’t a good way to identify it. Mods include suspension, Recaro seats, BBS LM wheels, AC Schnitzer splitters, and an AC Schnitzer Type II roof spoiler.

S54B32 M Coupe | Black Sapphire | Gray/Black

S54B32 M Coupe | Black Sapphire | Gray/Black | Style 32 Wheels

This M Coupe was spotted by spn unit of autogespot.com in Breda, Netherlands. Initially I thought it was a Z3 Coupe with M side grilles, and mirrors added. However, looking at the rear, it has factory M dual exhaust, with an M bumper. Fitting the stock M dual exhaust to a Z3 Coupe would not be worth the effort, so it seems unlikely that it is a Z3 Coupe in M Coupe “clothing”. More likely than not, the owner has swapped a Z3 front bumper on, in favor of the M front bumper. I’ve heard it argued that the Z3 front bumper has more aero functionality than the M front bumper. I personally prefer the M bumper, but to each their own. Given the curved M badges, chrome trim ringed headlights, and chrome trimmed kideny grille slats, I believe this is an 01 or 02 M Coupe with an S54 under the hood. In the second photo, you can just see what looks like Dark Gray bolsters on the seats. It’s odd to see a set of Style 32 wheels fitted to an M Coupe. It’s not a terrible look by any means, but I think Roadstars look much better. Again, to each their own.

1998 M Coupe | Imola Red | Imola/Black

1998 M Coupe | Imola Red | Imola/Black | Widebody Custom M Coupe

I stumbled across this M Coupe was posted on elgarajetuning.com. This is the most over-the-top Coupe I’ve seen to date — more so than this one. To some extent, I can appreciate the uniqueness and work that has gone into it. For what it is, it seems to be well executed. On the other hand, it looks like an otherwise stock M Coupe was stung by a bee, or something you might find in Disney’s Cars. I dunno. Nobody can argue that it’s not unique. It seems quite unlikely to be duplicated. An amazing amount of work went into widening the Coupe by 10″ on each side with new fenders, side skirts, widened bumpers along with huge front splitters. The front  & rear bumpers, side skirts, and front & rear fenders have all been molded together. The hatch was completely smoothed, and a massive hatch spoiler was molded on. The interior hasn’t been ignored either. Paint matched bits are found throughout, a massive tachometer, gauges on the dash (although the engine bay appears to be all stock), and a consistently over-the-top audio setup has been installed. The entire hatch has been replaced with a custom built box with a boatload of subwoofers and a matching amp. 4 point harnesses have been added, but no roll cage. It also looks like the lenses have been removed from the headlights – an odd move, but not all too surprising, I suppose, considering the rest of the Coupe. An interesting Coupe, indeed.
