1998 M Coupe | Imola Red | Imola/Black

1998 M Coupe | Imola Red | Imola/Black | Widebody Custom M Coupe

I stumbled across this M Coupe was posted on elgarajetuning.com. This is the most over-the-top Coupe I’ve seen to date — more so than this one. To some extent, I can appreciate the uniqueness and work that has gone into it. For what it is, it seems to be well executed. On the other hand, it looks like an otherwise stock M Coupe was stung by a bee, or something you might find in Disney’s Cars. I dunno. Nobody can argue that it’s not unique. It seems quite unlikely to be duplicated. An amazing amount of work went into widening the Coupe by 10″ on each side with new fenders, side skirts, widened bumpers along with huge front splitters. The front  & rear bumpers, side skirts, and front & rear fenders have all been molded together. The hatch was completely smoothed, and a massive hatch spoiler was molded on. The interior hasn’t been ignored either. Paint matched bits are found throughout, a massive tachometer, gauges on the dash (although the engine bay appears to be all stock), and a consistently over-the-top audio setup has been installed. The entire hatch has been replaced with a custom built box with a boatload of subwoofers and a matching amp. 4 point harnesses have been added, but no roll cage. It also looks like the lenses have been removed from the headlights – an odd move, but not all too surprising, I suppose, considering the rest of the Coupe. An interesting Coupe, indeed.

S50B32 M Coupe | Sterling Gray

S50B32 M Coupe | Sterling Gray | Aero Front Bumper

This M Coupe was posted on flickr.com by Masken87, in a photo set of titled “BMW Club Sweden at Knutstorp“. I haven’t seen a Sterling Gray M Coupe before, so this is pretty cool if it is original. I kind of have my doubts, though. The hood has louvers, which could have been added to the stock hood, but more likely indicates an aftermarket hood. It has the OEM Aero front bumper and side skirts. The mirrors are black, and the side grille slats have been painted black as well. The door handles have been color matched. It has an M bumper with dual exhaust, but the exhaust looks like an aftermarket setup — the tips have more stagger than stock, and seem to be bare metal, rather than polished or chromed. The front and rear plate read “Z3 M”, but don’t seem to be standard issue plates. All that said, this could very well be a Sterling Gray Z3 Coupe that was converted to a track car. I’m going to assume on the off chance that this is a factory original Sterling Gray M Coupe with mods to suite the owners taste. If you happen to know anything about this Coupe, please post in the comments.

This Z3 Coupe was posted on cardomain.com by Slantnose74. Mods include suspension, Rieger Tuning front lip, OEM hatch spoiler and tinted windows. It’s a nice looking Coupe, and the Walnut interior is the icing on the cake. It looks like the owner has some other nice toys too. Viper GTS? Yes please!

2000 M Coupe | Impala Brown | Dark Oregon Beige

2000 M Coupe | Impala Brown | Dark Oregon Beige

This M Coupe was posted on flickr.com by +Jethro+. Impala Brown is a color that was never available for M Coupes, however, as you can see here it is. While I can’t confirm 100% that this was originally painted Impala, it very likely was. There are 10 M Coupes with “Sonderlackierung” exteriors (special paint, in German) according to the data originally compiled by Wildag from BFc. BradK, an E36/8 enthusiast and expert from BFc, posted the “special” colors associated with those 10 VINs:
