S52B32 M Coupe | Imola Red | Dark Oregon Beige

I stumbled across this M Coupe posted on seenonmydrive.com by Corey. The M Coupe was photographed at the Dallas Cars and Coffee in December of last year. Based upon the flat rear M badge, and Hyper Silver Roadstars, this has an S52 under the hood. The Coupe appears to be all stock. The color combo is a pretty uncommon one, with only 22 Imola/Beige M Coupes sold in the US — 6 1999s, 13 2000s, and 3 2001s. Incidentally, only 3 of them were sold without a sunroof — 2 in 2000, and 1 in 2001.

This M Coupe is listed for sale by Specialty Sales of San Carlos, CA for $20,990 with 80k miles. The price seems quite high to me, given the mileage. It seems as if the dealer made little effort to prepare the car for sale, especially at their asking price. (more…)

1999 M Coupe | Boston Green | Dark Oregon Beige

This M Coupe was submitted by Ben H. Ben provided a nice writeup about his Coupe ownership, which I have copied below:

My ownership began in mid 2005 when the Coupe had 21,000 miles. A friend invited me along to attend the American LeMans Series race held at Lime Rock Park that July. It was my first live event and I was instantly enamored with the sights, sounds and atmosphere of Lime Rock. Tucked in the rolling hills of northwestern Connecticut, Lime Rock was built in the early 50s and is one of the most scenic tree lined tracks in the East. It is also home to famed Skip Barber Racing School. Having never driven a car on the track, I signed up for it’s 3-day racing school as an introduction and it was so fun I signed up for it’s 2-day advanced school at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

I don’t remember seeing a twin turbo M Coupe before. It’s pretty crowded under the hood, but somehow they managed to squeeze twin turbos in there. Quite impressive. This 99 M Coupe was featured in European Car Magazine.
