S50 to S62 Conversion | 1999 M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Gray/Black

S50 to S62 Conversion | 1999 M Coupe | Dakar Yellow | Gray/Black | Carbon Goeke Spoiler Wing

This M Coupe was posted on z3mcoupe.com by M-Center of Moscow, Russia. The Coupe started it’s life as an S50B32 engined Coupe, and now has an 8 cylinder S62B50 from an E39 M5, producing nearly 500 hp. That kind of power necessitates reinforcement of the stock trunk floor. M-Center strengthened the floor and utilized a dual ear E36 M3 diff cover by adding a second hanger. The S62 engine is significantly taller than the stock S50 engine, thus requiring modifications to allow the hood to close. A Vac Motorsports dry sump oil system, which not only ensures that the engine won’t be starved of oil on the track, allows removal of the S62 oil pan allowing crucial clearance to be added to the engine bay. Plumbed from the engine bay is a hatch mounted 3 gallon dry sump tank containing the oil.  Aside from the engine and chassis mods there are plenty more: Custom exhaust, 6 speed E39 M5 transmission, ceramic clutch, Fidanza LTW flywheel, custom length driveshaft, Porsche 911 GT3 RS 997 brakes, KW V3 coilovers, H&R struts, BBS LM wheels, Nitto AE01 tires, custom roll cage, Sparco EVO Plus seats, Schroth seat belts, a what looks to me like a Carbon Goeke spoiler. All in all, this a very cool one-of-a-kind M Coupe.

1999 M Coupe | Arctic Silver | Gray/Black

1999 BMW M Coupe | Arctic Silver | Gray/Black

This M Coupe was posted on z3mcoupe.com by Steely. He purchased the Coupe in July of this year with 85,000 miles.  Sadly, the Coupe was totaled in a wreck in November. Fortunately, he received a bit more than he paid for the Coupe from his insurance. Steely has started the search for another M Coupe, this time he’s aiming for an S54.

2002 M Coupe | Steel Gray | Gray/Black

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7170/6426712713_b77d7edfe7_z.jpg

These excellent M Coupe photos were posted on graphicsdump.wordpress.com. The only thing posted with the photos is “photoshoot for a client”. There were only 46 Steel Gray over Gray/Black M Coupes made for NA, of which 38 have a sunroof like this one. It looks in the first image like this M Coupe has a sunroof. The thing that stands out the most are the wheels. My favorite – Kinesis K58s. I’m aware of only a few Coupes that have Kinesis K5Xs, and only one that is Steel Gray. Additionally, curved Super Sprint DTM exhaust tips are visible. That said, I think this must be Andrew’s fine specimen. Or, is there a duplicate out there? I doubt it. Let us know, Andrew! Mystery solved in the comments below. Thanks for posting Andrew and Scott!

1999 M Coupe | Arctic Silver | Gray/Black

1999 BMW Z3 M Coupe | Arctic Silver | Gray/Black

This is my former M Coupe that I bought in Rowland Heights, CA 2/17/08 with 65k miles and sold 1/13/10 with 76k miles. It was a single owner car, with all records, and was in great shape. I found it on the Los Angeles Craigslist on 2/12/08 and flew out that weekend with my wife to pick it up. At the time, she was about 6 weeks pregnant and was quite uncomfortable, but she was a trooper and wanted to join in the fun of picking up the Coupe. We had a lot of great memories with that Coupe, as we enjoyed it together for about 8 months before we had our first child. I found out today that the guy who bought it from me totaled it earlier this year. 🙁 He was driving in the rain, and had the ASC traction control off. He took a curve a bit faster than he should have and wound up spinning out, romping the curb, and ended up in somebodies driveway. The Coupe sustained substantial damage to the wheels, tires, suspension, undercarriage, and chassis. He walked away just fine, luckily. He has since bought a 2000 Cosmos Black over Black M Coupe. I know it’s just a car, and wasn’t even mine, but it bums me out that it is wrecked. RIP LC60562.

2001 M Coupe | Phoenix Yellow | Gray/Black

2001 BMW Z3 M Coupe | Phoenix Yellow | Gray/Black

I previously posted photos of this Coupe, owned by Kurt Martin. These are additional photos from his gallery. Phoenix Yellow can be a difficult color to capture. I think this is an accurate representation of it. The Gray/Black interior compliments the paint nicely, as it is subtle, but contrasts a bit more than solid black would. One of the original 21 owners of Phoenix Yellow M Coupes was particularly adventurous and ordered it with Laguna Seca Blue/Black interior. That must be quite the sight! Anybody happen to have photos of it?
