I found this M Coupe for sale in Germany on autocenter-querum.de. They have listed it as a “BMW Z3 M Coupe Hamann Le Mans Limited Edition”. I can’t find any further details about the Coupe, so it may or may not have been designed/built by Hamann, but it does have a “special” badge on the glove box indicating that it is Hamann Limited Edition Serial Number 004.

I am curious if it is Coupe number four of a limited edition of Hamann Coupes, or just number four of Hamann limited edition vehicles. In any event, it appears to have every Coupe part from the Hamann catalog. The paint is listed as “Giallo gelb”, which would be “yellow yellow” — both in Italian and German. The paint is obviously not a standard Coupe paint option, but appears to be a full paint job including jambs and the engine bay. Aside from the odd color, and excessive assortment of add-ons the Coupe strangely has the US drivers knee bolster and glove box, along with an extended leather dash. They identify it as a 2001, but it has an S50 and black gauges, which makes me think it is really a 1999 or 2000.

There’s not much I really like about this Coupe, but it certainly is unique, in the strongest sense of the word. The Coupe is listed for sale at €19,999 ($26,484 USD) with 54k km (33.5k miles). Although, the interior shows excessive wear for that limited amount of miles.

If you know anything more about this bizarre M Coupe, please post in the comments or shoot me an email.

My goodness, is this thing ugly! Looks like it drove right off the set of The Fast and The Furious. Best of luck to the seller; they are going to need it.

Obviously way too many Hamann parts stuck on.

But … it used to look worse.

I have a few other pictures of it from way back and it used to have Hamann stickers on its sides just to really complete the overkill. And it was also used in pics for the Hamann catalogues.
