M Coupe vs Ferrari FF | San Diego, CA

M Coupe vs Ferrari FF | 2001 M Coupe | Black Sapphire | Black

This photo was posted by BFM01 on bimmerforums.com of his 2001 Black Sapphire over Black Nappa M Coupe adjacent to a Ferrari FF. I’ve posted photos before of an M Coupe compared to an FF, but this is a different angle than those, and a better photo I might add. David took delivery of his M Coupe in March from Enthusiast Auto, and has been very pleased thus far. His pristine, 25k mile Coupe appears to be all stock, aside from the UUC RK6-A shift knob and smoked corner markers. Thanks for taking and sharing the photo, David!

M Coupe vs Ferrari FF | Part II

BMW Z3 M Coupe vs Ferrari FF | Comparison | Side-by-side

This photo was posted on leblogauto.com as “La photo du jour“. I posted a similar photo in October. This appears to be the same exact cars, at the same time, but from a different angle. I’m still blown away by how huge the FF is in comparison. Although, it would blow away the M Coupe and carry four people while doing it. The price tag is just a bit higher on the FF though. 😉

M Coupe vs Ferrari FF | Part I

M Coupe vs Ferrari FF | M Coupe compared to Ferrari FF

Since the time the Ferrari FF was unveiled, it has been compared to the M Coupe. It’s proportions are similar, and they’re both shooting brakes, but the similarities end there. As you can see in this photo posted on teamspeed.com by fqogil, the FF is immense compared to the M Coupe. It outweighs the M Coupe by nearly 1,000 lbs, and is almost 3 feet longer. This photo is a bit deceptive though, as the FF is only about 8 inches wider, and 3 inches taller than the M Coupe. The photo gives the perspective that the FF is several feet larger in all dimensions, though. Nonetheless, I like the comparison of the two from this angle.

1999 M Coupe | ‘Ferrari Yellow’ | Black

http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5136/5414975043_bd7e244af4_z.jpg

This M Coupe was posted by Kinesis 996 on 6speedonline.com. He specifically mentions that the M Coupe was completely repainted Ferrari Yellow. Before reading his description, I assumed it was Dakar Yellow, but it does look a bit brighter, and metallic, unlike Dakar which is non-metallic. The Coupe is loaded with Hamann parts, including splitter, side skirts, kidney grille trim rings, eye lids, rear diffuser, and PG2 19″ wheels. Additionally a Dinan CF intake, OMP steering wheel, aliminum pedals, and an Apline head unit. While he never states that it is a 99, I am basing it upon the non-chrome trimmed kidney grille slats, non-chrome trim ringed headlights, flat badges, black gauge faces, and the S52 under the hood.

Rolf Pfannerer – My Evolution to Clownshoe Owner

Rolf's Clownshoe

If you have a story that you’d like to share about Clownshoes, how you came to own yours, or an interesting story about it that you’d like to see featured here, feel free to send it over!

My evolution to being a Clownshoe owner and fanatic of a near perfect Imola Red over Imola Red/Rlack 2000 M Coupe started with my purchase in 1996 of a then new 1.9 Hellrot Z3. I loved that car (Still do. It is my DD.) and couldn’t imagine anything more beautiful or entertaining. My wife and I happily shared this car as I would sometimes have to drive my real “bread van” for the bakery I own. Back then if you wanted to look at pictures and read articles about your car you actually would buy magazines. The Internet was pretty crude and empty up to that point.
